I want to be a performing artist and my sources give me an inside look into the world of performance and what i need to do to become successful in my career. The Master Of Horror November 1, 2009
Stephen King has been one of my favorite author’s for a least 3 years so this was actually fun for me. The way he writes is very intresting to me. He has this way of getting so detailed at points that it makes you question if what your reading is actually real. While everyone goes out and goes to see the latest horror movie i would much rather pickup the newest Stephen King book because they can scare me more than any movie. Granted some of his books have been made into movies but they are never nearly as good as the novels are and maybe thats a good thing. If you want to be freaked read the shinning and don’t go see the movie. Stephan King can write,he’s a genius. People want to be scared thats the reason people like Stephen King are rich, once you can find a way to write that makes people question reality you have a gift and you will never be out of work again.

“Reflections on Prewriting to Develop the Process September 21, 2009
I used the pre-writting technique of free writting. I had not put a introduction in my original draft of the essay because I did not know what to say. However being forced to write whatever I was thinking helped me actually come up with a decent opening paragraph. I did this technique for my opening paragraph simply because i did not really have one when I wrote my first draft. I had something little but I did not like it very much. This technique made me really just write whatever I was thinking. I let go a little bit and let my mind do something differernt, for a change I just wrote.

Let It Snow September 19, 2009
I have read other works by David Sedaris before and I happen to love his style of writing. Reading this story was interesting and very enjoyable. During the story I felt sorry for these kids. They were home from school and all they wanted to do was sit home and relax. I am sure that is what most of these blogs will say as well. However, the more I read the story, I started to fell sorry for the mother. Everyday her kids go to school and she has 4 hours or so to herself where she can do whatever she wants. Its her time. I understand why the kids were upset but at the same time I understand why their mother kicked them out of the house. Their mother did not like the change that came with having her children home from school on a normal school day.
My Goals September 19, 2009
My personal goals for this class are to get all my work done on time. It is very hard especially when the homework is supposed to be done on the computer when there’s Facebook and other distractions. I plan, by the end of this class to be a better writer. I have a english minor and I would like this class to lead me in the right direction so that I can understand more of the writing process that I need to succeed.
My Writing Process September 15, 2009
When I am going to write a essay, or a song, my writing process is always the same. I have to be in a quiet room where I can have me and my thoughts alone. Sometimes I will listen to music if I get stuck. Once ideas start to pop into my head I will start to write them down on paper. After looking at all my ideas I will pick the one that is best, and grow on it.
The Importance of Reading?? September 6, 2009
while reading chapter 2 in The Short Prose Reader I started to actually question the importance of reading, Throughout the 13 pages, chapter 2 talks about Malcolm X and how reading, basically changed his life. How it’s important to re-read and underline. The only thing that I could think of while reading was that I have read this before. “Reading has forever changed the course of my life.” says Malcolm X. Well besides from being overdramatic, I would consider his statement to be false. Reading is what you make out of it, it can take you to a different time and place. That’s what reading is supposed to do, in my opinion. It may seem out of line but at the end of the day, there should be a difference between your reality and the world you live in when you read.
